Geo-thermal loops
Using the method of Horizontal Directional Drilling to install geo-thermal loop fields makes for a much cleaner, more efficient project. Geothermal heat pump systems in Minnesota are designed for year-round efficiency, providing heating during cold winters and cooling in the summer. The system's key component, the Geothermal Earth Loop (GHEX), uses underground HDPE pipes filled with an antifreeze-water solution to exchange heat with the earth. While underground temperatures remain stable at 46–52°F throughout the year, the area around the loop experiences seasonal variations from 32°F to 75°F as heat is absorbed or released.
